SOME HALLOWEEN SAFETY REMINDERS

Halloween is a fun holiday enjoyed by many, but the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s Station urges residents to take care when going trick-or-treating. Reporter Laura Berry has some tips to make this holiday just slightly less scary…

Halloween parties are always safer than trick-or-treating, but if you do choose to trick-or-treat, stay in your neighborhood. Plan your entire route and never go alone; go in a group supervised by an adult. Watch out for cars and be careful crossing the street.

Visit only people you know, never go in a stranger’s home or car and avoid streets that are poorly lit. Carry a flashlight and only go to well-lit homes, Accept treats only at the door way and most importantly, have an adult check ALL wrapped and unwrapped candy before consumption. If any treat is suspicious, contact the police.
