In the featured informational presentation at the November meeting of the Morongo Basin Municipal Advisory Council, NextEra Energy’s Project Director, Jess Melin, introduces a proposed 100-acre solar development at the Joshua Tree Airport site.
An action item before the Council calls on the County Planning Commission to require the Altamira residential project developers to submit a valid Environmental Impact Report including a comprehensive traffic study, fire and flood plan, economic impact and market studies; signoff by the Joshua Basin Water District, an approved Streambed Alteration Agreement from the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, and a specific plan for phased construction and operation from groundbreaking through completion of all units. The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in the Joshua Tree Community Center on Sunburst Avenue.
