Fourteen high school teams racing solar cars from the Texas Motor Speedway to the California Science Center in Los Angeles are expected to arrive in Twentynine Palms Luckie Park in the late afternoon on Monday, July 29. Z107.7 will be on location with a live broadcast as racers arrive at the park. The solar car challenge is the top STEM education program designed to motivate students in Science, Engineering, and Alternative Energy. The solar powered cars will be on display and volunteers and students will be on hand to answer questions. The event will see the racers off on the final leg of their journey at 9 a.m on Tuesday, July 30. For more information call the Twentynine Palms recreation office at 760-367-7562.
