The Solar Car Challenge is an education program designed to help motivate students in science, engineering, and alternative energy. Thirty teams will be racing from the Texas Motor Speedway to the finish line in Palmdale, California, in hand-built cars run exclusively on solar power. The fleet of cars will make a pit stop at Luckie Park in Twentynine Palms on Sunday, July 22. The public is invited to join Z107.7 at this free event as we broadcast live from 3 to 6 p.m. at Luckie Park to cheer on the competitors, see the vehicles on display, and speak with the team members. For more information, contact Dr. Marks at 214-587-8489.

On Monday, July 23, the solar car teams will leave the Twentynine Palms Stater Bros. grocery store at 9 a.m. for their final leg to Palmdale.
