SMOKE FROM THE EL DORADO FIRE IN YUCAIPA FILLS MORONGO BASIN SKIES

The smoke in the air this morning is primarily coming from the Eldorado Fire, currently burning over 7,300 acres near Oak Glen. CalFire said the fire was caused by a smoke generating pyrotechnic device, used during a gender reveal party at 10:23 a.m. Saturday in the El Dorado Ranch Park in Yucaipa. The fire spread from the park to the north on to Yucaipa Ridge that separates Mountain Home Village and Forest Falls from the City of Yucaipa. Some smoke is also from the Apple fire, still 95% contained at 33,424 acres.

While the El Dorado fire is 26 miles northwest of Pioneertown and 20 miles west of Morongo Valley as the crow flies, it is burning on the west side of the Apple fire burn scar and there is no danger to our local communities.
