SMOKE FROM CALIFORNIA FIRES HIT THE MORONGO BASIN

Many residents noted somewhat smokie air in the Morongo Basin yesterday (August 24). According to reports from the AirNow federal fire and smoke map, smoke from the numerous wildfires burning throughout California drifted into the Morongo Basin yesterday, prompting moderate air quality advisories in the basin. Smoke from California wildfires is slowly drifting through the state, the country, and even as far away as Canada. Residents are advised to prepare for the possibility of worsening smoke conditions depending on wind intensity and direction.
