SMOKE FROM DISTANT FIRE IN MORONGO BASIN

Smoke from a wildfire raging out of control north of Santa Clarita is filling the Morongo Basin with smoke today. As of 6 a.m., the Grand Fire, burning in Frazier Park, had burned more than 3,000 acres since Wednesday afternoon and was only 15 percent contained. More than 600 firefighters are at the scene. Frazier Mountain High School is closed today. Seven air tankers and four water-dropping helicopters were used Wednesday to try and control the fire.
