Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center in Twentynine Palms has re-opened its campus to visitors. Rebecca Havely has more details…
Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center has opened its campus to visitors. Visitors can walk the nature trails, and explore the orrery and the meditation garden. There are no docents or organized programs; however, QR codes on the Orrery and nature trail provide self-guided tours via smart phone. Restrooms are not open. Social distancing is required, and visitors are urged to wear masks. A new security system is in place and the campus is monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Those wishing to bring their own observing and photography equipment are welcome to use the campus after dark but are cautioned NOT to welcome strangers to share their equipment.
As always, no smoking, alcohol, or pets are permitted, and no camping or overnight stays are allowed on any part of the 15-acre campus. Visitors must carry out all trash. Adults must accompany and take responsibility for the safety and behavior of children under 16.
Sky’s The Limit is at 9697 Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms, just outside the north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
