Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center invites stargazers to enjoy the spectacular desert night sky on tonight. Reporter Jill Carey Michaels has the celestial details…
Observe the planet Jupiter in the southern sky constellation Libra, at Sky’s the Limit Observatory and Nature Center Saturday, June 9. Wonder at the night sky’s sparkling great cluster in Hercules, Scorpius and Omega Centauri. Volunteers will set up a variety of telescopes, and guests are welcome to use them…or bring their own. The free event begins at 9 p.m. and lasts three hours. Stargazers should pack a red flashlight to preserve night vision, and may bring snacks, water bottles, and chairs; dress for the unpredictable evening desert weather. No pets or overnight stays allowed on the Observatory and Nature Center. For more information on the event call Ray at 760-365-7897 or visit skysthelimit29.org. Donations to support Sky’s The Limit’s educational programs are gratefully accepted. The Observatory is located at 9697 Utah Trail in Twentynine Palms, just outside the main (north) entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
