SKATEBOARDER ACCUSED OF ASSAULTING A 74-YEAR-OLD YUCCA VALLEY WOMAN

A dispute over skateboarding in front of a Yucca Valley business led to an arrest for assault and an elderly woman injured. According to a Sheriff’s
report, Benjamin Rosenberger, 26, was skateboarding in front of a business in the 56600 block of 29 Palms Highway about4 p.m. Friday. The 74-year-old owner of the business asked Rosenberger not to skateboard in front of her business. When he ignored her, she asked him to leave her property. The report states that Rosenberger then approached the woman and her son in an aggressive manner, and fearing that Rosenberger was going to hit his mother, the son pushed Rosenberger away. Rosenberger allegedly punched the son in the face and caused the woman to fall to the ground, cutting open a one-inch wound on her chin. Benjamin Rosenberger was arrested for investigation of assault causing serious injuries, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $100,000.
