The fire stations in Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree will be receiving new firefighters this weekend. Graduation from the county fire department’s intensive, six-days-a-week training academy for fire fighters is today. Of the 28 cadets who entered the training program 10 weeks ago, six will be coming to the Morongo Basin—three to Yucca Valley, and three to Joshua Tree. One fire fighter will be assigned to each shift at the fire stations. Each cadet entered the training academy as a licensed paramedic and has graduated as a full-time fire fighter/medic.
