Six people were injured in two separate crashes in Yucca Valley Tuesday evening. About 6:15 p.m., a single vehicle rolled over on Alta Loma, just east of the intersection with La Contenta, landing on its wheels. Inside the vehicle were 4 people, including a young child. Three of the occupants were taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center; the child was flown to Loma Linda Medical Center and later released. The driver is reported to have said she was hit by another vehicle that fled the scene.
Then about 8 p.m., two people received minor injuries in a roll-over crash in the center of Yucca Valley. According to the Sheriff’s Department, a Honda SUV and Mitsubishi Mirage collided at the intersection of Highway 62 and Dumosa Avenue. The force of the collision made the Honda roll over onto its roof. Both drivers, who were not identified, were taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment. The cause is under investigation.
