The musical comedy “Sister Act” opened yesterday at Theatre 29 and continues this weekend with a Saturday evening show and a Sunday matinee. Rebecca Havely has your invitation…
“Sister Act” is a musical based on the hit 1992 film of the same name. Delores Van Cartier is a lounge singer, played by award-winning actress Robin Wilson. After witnessing a crime, she is placed in the witness protection program as a nun. She ends up leading the church choir of sisters that includes, Virginia Sulick, Brittany Baldridge, Emma Sanchez, Cindy Daigneault, Colleen Badel, Patti Brown, Char Childs, Sabrina Giron, Kegan Longuevan, Sara Mahan, Sarabeth Matilsky, and Imelda Patu. The choir draws media attention to the monastery, attracting the goons chasing Delores, played by Tom Patu, Ethan Woolever, Michael Sanchez, and Noah Wahlberg. Rounding out the cast are Cruz Jimenez and Spencer Rodgers. The production is directed by Scott Clinkscales and is fun for the entire family.
