A woman was hospitalized Tuesday afternoon following a single-vehicle roll-over crash on Highway 62 just west of Yucca Valley. Shortly after 1:30 p.m., Patricia Gomez, 44, of Santa Ana, was driving her 2001 Chevrolet pick-up truck westbound in the number 1 lane of Highway 62 east of Yucca Park Road by the Hi-Desert Rod and Gun Club shooting range. The California Highway Patrol says that for unknown reasons, Gomez lost control of her vehicle, which left the roadway on the north shoulder. The truck overturned and came to rest blocking both lanes of westbound traffic. Gomez received major injuries in the crash and was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. The CHP is investigating the crash.
