Theatre 29 is seeking vocalists for “Mis-Cast: Part Deux.” This is the second summer where singers have a chance to play a role they may not ever have a chance to perform otherwise. With audition details, here’s Rebecca Havely …
Are you a bit too old to play little orphan Annie? Or maybe you’ve always wished you could play the Phantom of the Opera but you’re a soprano? Well don’t let anything stop you from singing a song from a dream role that may never come true. That’s the theme of “Mis-Cast,” a musical revue fundraiser benefiting the Theatre 29 building expansion fund. Choose a song for auditions that you’ve never had a chance to perform, or just choose a song that shows off your range. Director Lisa Goldberg and musical director Scott Clinkscales will be casting the cabaret style revue at auditions Monday, June 3 at 6 p.m. Bring a non-vocal backing track on a mobile device. The show will be performed twice: Saturday, June 22, will be a gala event with dinner, auctions and drawings, plus a matinee show on Sunday, June 23.
