The Grubstakes Run is open to experienced and novice athletes of all ages and fitness levels. While the 10K and 5K runs are timed competitions, the 2K walk is a non-competitive event. Sunday, May 28, both races and the walk begin at 8:00 a.m. They start and finish at the Yucca Valley High School football stadium, located at 7600 Sage Avenue, and wind through residential areas on the south side of Yucca Valley. Register now at the Community Services Office in the Community Center or online at yucca-valley.org. Early birds who register on or before May 18 pay a fee of $20 per person, get express check-in at the race, a souvenir race T-shirt and gift, and are automatically entered into a door prize drawing. Regular registration begins on May 19 at $25 per person or register on-site on race day from 7:00 to 7:45 a.m.
Awards will be presented for the 10K and 5K run for overall male and female winners and to top finishers in each age division. Participation certificates will be presented to those who complete the 2K walk.
