SIGN UP FOR CABOTS PUEBLO MUSEUM FIELD TRIP

The Morongo Basin Historical Society is offering a field trip to a historic Desert Hot Springs museum. Here’s assignment reporter, Cassie Zimarik with your invitation…
Join the Morongo Basin Historical Society for a field trip to tour the historic Cabots Pueblo Museum in Desert Hot Springs on February 20th. In 1913, Cabot Yerxa homesteaded 160 acres discovering both hot and cold mineral waters that gave the area its name. A remarkable man, Yerxa was an artist, writer, builder, architect, explorer, collector and entrepreneur. He built the 35 room pueblo-style house making his own sun dried adobe bricks and using reclaimed materials found on the property to finish the 4-storied 5,000 square foot building. The tour times are 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Each tour is limited to 12-14 people. The donation for members is $12 and for non-member is $16. To sign up, contact Claudia at [email protected] or 760-366-7896. Reporting for Z107.7, I’m assignment reporter, Cassie Zimarik.
