Morongo Valley residents can sign up for free turkeys from “Operation Gobble.” Reporter Mike Lipsitz prepares the stuffing…
For 25 years, Golden State Water Company in Morongo Valley has gifted turkeys to needy families at this time of year. The 2015 “Operation Gobble” starts at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 20; some 76 Morongo Valley families will receive a holiday bird. Assisting in the effort will be the Morongo Valley Community Services District and Fire Department, Morongo Valley Elementary School and Church of the Lighted Cross. To reserve your turkey and get a number, call Sandy at 760-363-6454 Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Turkeys are on a first call or come-in basis and you must have a reservation to pick your turkey up at the Morongo Valley Fire Station.
