SIGN UP TO TOUR LOCAL DESERT-WISE LANDSCAPES

More than 20 Morongo Basin gardens will be open to the public for the annual Desert-Wise Landscape Tour on Saturday, April 26. Assignment reporter Mike Lipsitz has the details…
This popular, self-guided tour, sponsored by the Morongo Basin Conservation Association, lasts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It features beautiful water-wise landscapes throughout the Basin communities. The Landscape Tour allows exploration of a range of practical, low-water landscaping solutions that local gardeners can put to use. Participants have an opportunity to meet and talk with those whose inspiring personal sanctuaries blend low water consumption with artful desert living. A $10 per person donation is requested, discounted 50 percent for Conservation Association members. Details and registration are available through a link in this story at Z1077fm.com or at this Saturday’s Yucca Valley Earth Day Celebration, and at Wind Walkers in Joshua Tree. http://www.mbconservation.org/water_conservation_garden_high_desert
