SIGN UP NOW FOR LECTURE ON NATIVE PLANTS

Efficiency in using water is a desert survival skill. Reporter Dan Stork invites you to a talk on Tuesday about how native plants do it over very long lifetimes…
On March 25, Botanist Robin Kobaly will expound on long-lived desert plants, in a presentation titled “Surrounded by Ancients”, at the next ABCs of Water event sponsored by the Mojave Water Agency. She’ll tell how an unseen network of underground root partners help native plants thrive for centuries. Robin will also demonstrate how to estimate the age of native plants in our valleys and surrounding mountains, and will discuss how these ancient survivors can enhance your own landscape. The talk is from 5:30 to 7 pm, at 13846 Conference Center Drive in Apple Valley. To register, call Gloria Golike at (760) 946-7001 by March 24, or email her at ggolike@mojavewater.org.
