On Saturday, January 23, the High Desert Shrine Club teams up with the Yucca Valley Rotary Club to provide free health screenings to children up to the age of 18. The clinic will identify those conditions treated at Shriners Hospital in Los Angeles such as burn scars or other scaring that needs plastic surgery, cleft palates and lips, bone, muscle or joint problems, children with missing limbs or the need of prosthetics, malformations that require reconstructive surgery, Cerebral Palsy, other debilitating diseases or conditions, and other conditions that require children to use a walker or wheelchair. This is NOT a health fair for general checkups, or illnesses unrelated to the types listed above. Shriners Hospital provides free health care to those who are accepted into their program. Z107.7 will be broadcasting live from this event on January 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so make sure you stop by the Yucca Valley Masonic Lodge at 7062 Theater Road, behind Builders Supply. For more information, call Cynthia at 365-1988.
