SHOTS FIRED LEADS TO ARREST OF MORONGO VALLEY MAN

A call to deputies about gunshots being fired resulted in the arrest of a Morongo Valley man Sunday. Deputies were called to the 49200 block of Big Morongo Canyon Road in Morongo Valley about 4:45 p.m. Sunday by a neighbor who heard gunshots. Deputies contacted Nicklas Covey, 34. Covey refused to comply with deputy commands, and he was tased. Nicklas Covey was arrested for investigation of resisting arrest, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
