One man was arrested after a shooting incident in Yucca Valley Friday Night. Sheriff’s Sergeant Richard Hutchens said deputies responded to a report of shots fired in the area of El Dorado and Barron at about 11 p.m. Deputies contacted Douglas Hiday, 29, who told them he had been in a fight with several individuals there. He said he ran into his house and retrieved a handgun and then fired three shots into the ground. Investigation revealed no evidence of the other men present and Douglas Hiday was found to be a convicted felon. Hiday was placed under arrest for investigation of the negligent discharge of a weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was booked into the Morongo basin jail and later released on $50,000 bail.
