SHOTS FIRED DURING ATTEMPTED HOME INVASION ROBBERY

Deputies are investigating an attempted home invasion robbery in Twentynine Palms. Deputies were called to the 6200 block of Abronia Avenue about 11 p.m. Saturday. The homeowner said two unknown men, wearing ski masks, were pounding on the front door. When the men tried to break the front window, the husband fired two shots from a 9mm handgun through the window at the suspects. The men then fled on foot and deputies were unable to locate them during an area check. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
