SHOT FIRED DURING ATTEMPTED ROBBERY IN YUCCA VALLEY

A gun was fired during an attempted robbery in Yucca Valley early Monday morning. Deputies were called to the 55600 block of Macdonald Lane in Yucca Valley just before 1:30 a.m. The victim told deputies that the suspect, identified as Scott Bryant, 59, of Yucca Valley, had kicked in his front door and assaulted him. The victim, fearing for his life, grabbed a firearm for protection. During a struggle over possession of the gun, a shot was fired into the ceiling. Bryant was able to force the gun out of the victim’s hand, and then fled with the gun on a motorcycle. Deputies later located Bryant at his home in the 7300 block of Frontera Avenue in Yucca Valley where they found the stolen firearm. Scott Bryant was arrested for investigation of residential robbery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $200,000.
