SHORT TERM VACATION RENTAL REGULATIONS TO BE DISCUSSED AT YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

New regulations for short-term vacation rentals are being brought to the Yucca Valley Town Council tonight, and they include requirements for noise and parking regulations along with strengthened nuisance enforcement. With a look at these regulations and tonight’s full agenda, here is reporter Jef Harmatz.

At tonight’s regularly scheduled meeting, the Town Council will receive the Planning Commission’s recommendations for updates to Yucca Valley’s codes related to short-term vacation rentals as part of an environmental review. The changes, if approved, will redefine the town’s process for approving vacation rentals, implement density and parking regulations, the monitoring of noise and owner response times, and enforcing these regulations via fines and permit revocations. Also at tonight’s meeting, the council is expected to state their intent to comply with a California state law requiring the collection, recycling and composting of plant and food waste, with a more detailed collection plan to be developed and implemented later this year. The meeting begins tonight at 6 p.m. at the Yucca Valley Community Center, and can also be attended online via a link below.
