SHORT-TERM VACATION RENTAL REGULATIONS AND REDISTRICTING ARE HOT TOPICS AT YUCCA VALLEY TOWN COUNCIL MEETING

The Yucca Valley Town Council is seeking your input on two hot-button issues: short-term vacation rental regulations and redistricting. Both topics will be under discussion at this week’s council meeting. For the full story, we go to reporter Jef Harmatz…

Short-term vacation rentals are an issue that divides the high desert, and the Yucca Valley Town Council is poised to decide what actions if any, they will take to further regulate the phenomenon. Surveys show that residents are evenly split on whether short-term rentals have been a boon or blight to Yucca Valley, and the council is opening this issue to public comment. Also open to public comment is the redrawing of the electoral map based on new demographic information derived from the 2020 Census, a process known as “redistricting.” The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19, and will be held at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
