It seems everyone is wondering what the structure is on top of the new Shoe City store at the corner of Highway 62 and Old Woman Springs Road in Yucca Valley. Wonder no more. You can bet your boots that Tami Roleff strapped on her stilettos to get the answers…

For the last several months, Shoe City has been transforming the old O’Reilly Auto Parts store into a new shoe store. During the remodeling, the company built a large glass triangular structure on top of the building. Alex Sosa, a spokesman for Shoe City, told Z107.7 News that the glass-walled room is just for aesthetics. At this point, it has no plans to add a giant shoe inside the room, light up the interior, or put any kind of sign on it (although he added that perhaps a sign may be possible sometime in the future, if it meets town ordinances).

The final inspection is Tuesday and assuming it passes, the store should open Wednesday.
