Sheriff’s vehicle rolls over, deputy injured on Hwy 62

Early this morning (August 21), a Sheriff’s vehicle was involved in a rollover collision in Yucca Valley, leaving a deputy with minor injuries.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department reports that at around 5:20 a.m., a deputy was driving a marked vehicle while on patrol near the intersection of Twentynine Palms Highway and Sage Ave in Yucca Valley. The Sheriff’s Department said that the deputy was involved in a single vehicle collision, which caused the vehicle to overturn onto its side.

The deputy involved in the incident suffered from minor injuries and was taken to a hospital as a precaution. He is now recovering at home.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded and is conducting the collision investigation. Surrounding roadways were closed during the investigation and have reopened to traffic.
