SHERIFF’S STATION TAGGED, 1 ADULT ARREST, 2 JUVENILES CITED

An 18-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon, accused of vandalizing the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s station and county courthouse in Joshua Tree. Employees arriving to work about 7:30 Monday morning noticed that the courthouse, Sheriff’s Department building, and a medical office across the highway, had been tagged with graffiti overnight. An investigation led deputies to the 63800 block of Highway 62, where they located Anthony Espana, of Bassett, along with two juveniles. Evidence at the scene connected Espana to the vandalism. Anthony Espana was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $25,000. The two juveniles were cited and released.
