SHERIFFS SEEK MAN WHO THREW ELDERLY MAN TO THE GROUND

Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a suspect who threw an elderly man to the ground during a burglary in Yucca Valley early Monday morning. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Yost, a resident in the 7300 block of Barberry, who left his front door open for his cat, woke up just after midnight to find a man with a flashlight inside his living room taking an iPad off his coffee table. Yost said when the 84-year-old victim told the burglar the iPad was his, the burglar replied, “It’s mine now.” Yost added that when the victim tried to block the burglar’s exit from his home, he was thrown to the ground. Yost described the suspect as 6 feet tall, about 180 pounds, possibly a white male, although his face and head were covered by a bandanna and a hat, wearing a shirt described as a “uniform” and blue pants. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
