MORE LOCAL VANDALISM AND THEFT
Vandals and thieves also hit Twentynine Palms and Yucca Valley Tuesday night-Wednesday morning. In Twentynine Palms, a flat-screen TV was stolen from a business I the 5700 block of Utah Trail; a home was burglarized in the 7300 block of North Star Avenue; a pick-up truck was burglarized in the 5100 block of Adobe Road; and electronic waste and an all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a business in the 73800 block of Callie Todd Lane.
In Yucca Valley, a surveillance camera was stolen from a business in the 56200 block of 29 Palms Highway; a guest house was sprayed with graffiti in the 7500 block of Indio Avenue, and a motorcycle was stolen from the 6400 block of Linda Lee Drive.
SPOUSAL ABUSE ARREST IN TWENTYNINE PALMS
A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Thursday morning after his girlfriend said he threw a glass at her. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to a fight between a man and a woman in the 71500 block of Juanita Drive about 6:45 Thursday morning. Deputies determined that Donald Molinares, 31, had thrown a glass cup at his girlfriend, which struck her in the head and cut her. In addition, Molinares had a $10,000 warrant for his arrest for driving without a valid license. Donald Molinares was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
MOTORCYCLIST INJURED IN YUCCA VALLEY
A motorcycle rider was injured after a crash in Yucca Valley Thursday evening. According to investigators, the unidentified male rider was traveling eastbound on Yucca Trail when his bike was rear ended by a woman driving a Ford car. The rider was thrown into the street from the collision. The motorcycle rider was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs for a possible broken leg. The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash.
SPOUSAL ABUSE ARREST IN JOSHUA TREE
A Joshua Tree man was arrested Thursday evening, accused of beating up a woman. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 61400 block of El Reposo Circle about 5:30 Thursday afternoon, for a report of screaming and fighting. After an investigation, deputies determined that Anthony Colegio, 20, had his arm around a woman and was trying to force her in the back yard, while two young children were watching and crying. The report states the man and woman were yelling and punching each other. Then Colegio allegedly had the woman pinned up against the house while he tried to choke her. According to the report, Colegio then pushed her to the ground and went into the house. When deputies arrived, Colegio fled the house and hid in a vacant house across the street, where he was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
