A Morongo Basin Sheriff’s patrol car was involved in a non-injury traffic collision Tuesday. According to a Sheriff’s report, Sheriff’s Deputy Natthaniel Campos was driving his marked Chevy Tahoe patrol unit southbound on Border Avenue about 8:30 p.m. Rickie Vigallon, 61, of Joshua Tree was driving his 2009 Honda CR-V eastbound on Golden Avenue. As Vigallon drove through the intersection at Border, Campos drove his patrol unit into the rear quarter panel of Vigallon’s CR-V. Neither man was injured in the crash, and both vehicles were driven away. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
