SHERIFF’S NATIONAL MISSING CHILDREN’S DAY EVENT TOMORROW

The recent case in Cleveland where 3 women escaped after being kidnapped and held against their will for more than 10 years has brought a lot of attention to child abductions. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department along with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are hosting an event tomorrow to commemorate National Missing Children’s Day. Reporter Kristy Lockhart has more on Take 25…

Take 25 is a National campaign that encourages parents to take 25 minutes to talk to their children about safety and ways to prevent abduction. San Bernardino County Sheriff Spokesperson Anita Baker says the campaign serves as a reminder that there are thousands of missing children in the U.S. and making child protection a priority. “The purpose of the event is to offer children safety tips on various topics on everything from when they are out an about, at the playground and safety when they are home alone.” Take 25 will be held at the Joshua Tree Community Center on Sunburst Avenue, Friday, May 10, from 3 to 6 p.m. For more information call 760-366-5748.
