The Annual “Desert Run” benefiting our local Sheriff’s Search and Rescue starts tomorrow. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says fire up your off-road vehicles and come play…
Morongo Basin Search and Rescue’s Desert Run Fundraiser kicks off tomorrow, Friday, October 4, at 4 p.m. at the Means Dry Lake at the Johnson Valley Off-Highway Vehicle Park. Activities include vehicle Teeter- Totter (an articulation ramp), kids’ games, food and vendors, and more throughout the weekend. The Run takes place Saturday morning and is a family event, not a race, consisting of a 15- to 20-mile course designed to meet a variety of off-road challenges. There’ll be prizes and trophies for the top three game winners. Desert Run tickets are $60 available at the event. Proceeds from the Desert Run go toward equipment for Morongo Basin’s all volunteer Search & Rescue team. Contact the team at 951-203-6816 for more information.
