Sheriff’s Deputies use Naloxone to save overdosing man in Joshua Tree

A man suffering from a drug overdose in Joshua Tree home was revived thanks to the Sheriff’s Deputies on Monday afternoon (May 15). At approximately 4:30 p.m., San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call regarding a man not breathing in the 6400 block of Valley View St in Joshua Tree.

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that the man, identified as a 30 year-old resident of Joshua Tree, was showing symptoms of an overdose. Deputies say they administered two doses of Naloxone to the male intranasally, and that, after the second dose, the male regained consciousness and began to respirate normally.

While deputies remained on scene, San Bernardino County Fire personnel arrived and transported the male to the Hi-Desert Medical Center for further evaluation.
