The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a driver who led deputies on a pursuit in Landers and reportedly caused thousands of dollars worth of property damage. According to a Sheriff’s Department press release, on Tuesday (April 5) shortly after 9:30 p.m., a deputy initiated a traffic stop on a white Dodge Ram pickup for an equipment violation near the
intersection of Sunny Vista Road and Aberdeen Drive in Landers. The vehicle reportedly failed to yield, and a pursuit ensued. After traveling several blocks, a visual was lost of the vehicle and an area check was conducted. During the area check, the vehicle was located with collision damage in the open desert, unoccupied. Upon investigation, it was learned that the vehicle had entered several private properties, collided with storage structures, and caused several thousands of dollars of property damage. The driver is still outstanding.
