SHERIFF NOW LOOKING FOR A CRIME SCENE IN THE CORWIN INVESTIGATION

The Sheriff’s Department says its efforts in the case of Erin Corwin,20, a pregnant Twentynine Palms Marine spouse missing since June 29th, have turned into a search for a possible crime scene. Investigators said yesterday afternoon, quote – “Information regarding locations that may have potential evidence of foul play has reached detectives and while several search warrants have been issued, specific information regarding these search warrants has not been released to protect the integrity of the case.”, unquote. “We are looking for a crime scene,” said Leland Boldt, the captain of the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division. Yesterday we reported that Christopher Lee, 24, who just left the Marine Corps July 6, identified as having a romantic relationship with Corwin, was arrested as a result of a search warrant served at the White Rock Horse Rescue facility in Yucca Valley. Investigators said his arrest is not related to the case of the missing Corwin, but because deputies located a destructive device and arrested Lee for its possession, Z107.7 has learned that device was a potato gun. Sheriff’s specialized investigations said, “Although the circumstances regarding the disappearance of Erin Corwin are suspicious, no evidence has ruled out she may have left the area voluntarily.” Anyone with any information that might help solve the mystery surrounding Erin Corwin’s disappearance is asked to please contact the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigation Division at (909) 387-3589.
