Morongo Basin Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a commercial burglary in Amboy. About 6 a.m. Monday, an employee at a mine quarry in the 18200 block of Kelbaker Road called to report that the job site had been burglarized. Sometime between 9:30 p.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday, three unknown suspects cut the lock to the gate, and then cut the locks to three Conex boxes on the site. Missing were more than $60,000 worth of tools and equipment, and a 2004 Chevy truck. The employee later found the truck with its ignition punched about two miles from the business.
