SHARP-EYED DEPUTY ARRESTS DANGEROUS MAN WANTED ON FELONY WARRANT

A sharp-eyed deputy recognized a driver who was known to be armed and dangerous, and made a felony traffic stop in Yucca Valley Monday night. According to limited information from the Sheriff’s Department, the deputy recognized the driver of a black Silverado, stopped the vehicle at Palomar Avenue and Yucca Trail about 9:30, and ordered the driver out at gunpoint. The driver, identified as Joshua Thompson, 30, had an active felony warrant for his arrest. The deputy also found suspected methamphetamine and heroin. Joshua Thompson was arrested on suspicion of burglary, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $100,000.
