Sex offender in Twentynine Palms arrested for suspected child pornography

A registered sex offender in Twentynine Palms was arrested for suspicion of possessing obscene materials featuring a minor is due in court today.

On May 21, the San Bernardino County Probation Department contacted a convicted sex offender on post-release community supervision. Probation officers say they contacted Zhataviyus Lord, 30, at a residence on Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms.

After a search of Lord’s residence, probation officers arrested him for violating the terms of post release supervision, and two counts of possessing obscene material with a minor. 

In April of 2022, Lord entered a guilty plea to a charge of contacting a minor for sex. He has since been released from State Prison

Lord has been held without bail since the May arrest, and is due at the Joshua Tree Courthouse today where he is facing arraignment on one felony charge of possessing material depicting a minor in a sexual act, with prior convictions.
