A registered sex offender was arrested Friday for failing to register with the Sheriff’s Department. Sex offenders are required by law to register with local law enforcement either five days before or after their birthdays. Peter Wolik, of the 73400 block of El Paseo Drive in Twentynine Palms, was out of compliance by not registering within the required time frame, and was taken into custody about 1:20 p.m. Friday. Peter Wolik was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and released Monday on $25,000 bail.
