A convicted sex offender was arrested in Twentynine Palms for suspicion of failing to register with the State of California.
Jon Wadkins, 28, was arrested Monday (October 15) in the 6300 block of EL Rey Ave in Twentynine Palms by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Deputies. Wadkins was arrested on suspicion of failing to register annually with the State of California as a sex offender. Because Wadkins is considered transient, he has a legal obligation to register as a sex offender with the state every 30 days, which he allegedly failed to do.
Wadkins is being charged with felony level crimes, owing to the severity of his original offense. He was arraigned yesterday on the charge of failing to register annually, to which he entered a plea of “not guilty.”
