SEVEN CLASSIC AIRCRAFT TO FLY OVER MORONGO BASIN SATURDAY, HONORING 9/11 VICTIMS

The Palm Springs Air Museum has finalized the flight plan for their September 11 memorial flights featuring seven of the museum’s classic aircraft. The aircraft will fly over 27 fire stations in the Coachella Valley and the High Desert in honor of first responders and the 2,977 Americans lost during the 9/11 attack. The planes will also carry flags in memorial of local service personnel lost over the twenty years since the attack. The aircraft will begin in the west valley at roughly 9:45-10 a.m. and head east into the high desert, visible in the Morongo Basin around 30 minutes later. Notable aircraft participating are the P-63 King Cobra, two P-51 Mustangs, a C-47 Sky Train, and the T-6 Texan. For more information, contact the Palm Springs Air Museum at 760-778-6262.
