SEVEN CITED IN STING TARGETING PROVIDING ALCOHOL TO MINORS

Seven people were cited in Yucca Valley and Twentynine Palms Thursday, accused of purchasing alcohol for—or selling it to—minors, and three others were arrested or cited on other charges. During a shoulder-tap sting operation, minors—under the supervision of Sheriff’s deputies—visited several liquor and convenience stores and asked strangers to buy alcohol or tobacco for them. Deputies made three citations at Highway 62 and Ocotillo in Twentynine Palms, and one person was also arrested for resisting arrest. In Yucca Valley, citations were given at Santa Fe Trail and the highway, Kickapoo Trail and Onaga Trail, and in the 58100 and 56200 blocks of 29 Palms Highway. Those arrested were cited and released. In addition, one person was arrested and cited for buying tobacco for a minor, and one arrest/citation was made for possession of drug paraphernalia.
