Jerry Hewitt, a 37-year-resident of Twentynine Palms, died July 5. She was 76 years old. Jerry Hewitt is survived by her husband, John “Doc” Hewitt; her daughter Vera Brownsburger of Sand Point, Idaho; her son, Thomas Hewitt of Randleman, North Carolina; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Jerry Hewitt was a nurse for 23 years before retiring. A viewing will be held at Weifels Mortuary in Twentynine Palms on Monday, July 11, at 10 a.m., followed by a service at noon, and interment at Twentynine Palms Cemetery. She was a U.S. Navy veteran, and active member of the American Pool Players Association, and an avid horsewoman.
