On December 12, 2021, Hector L. Figueroa 87, passed away peacefully at his home. Hector was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on September 11, 1934, to Vicente and Carmen Figueroa. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Carmen, daughter Maity Figueroa, niece and nephew Diana and Milton Perez, stepsons David and Jim Nassar. Hector was preceded in death by his mother Carmen, father Vicente, and sister Rosalia. He was a resident of Yucca Valley since 1982. Before moving to Yucca Valley, Hector worked as commissary food chef and manager for Todds Enterprises and GRACE Foods in Irvine. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to the service of God and the community where he lived. Hector served as President of the Flamingo Heights Homeowners Association, helped with the building of the New Country Gospel Church in Flamingo Heights, and was a co-founder of the Bread of Life Mission in Landers. As a member of the EV Free Church of Yucca Valley, he put his chef skills to work preparing meals. The remaining years of Hectors’ life were being a good family man, friend, and parishioner at the Gateway Assembly Church. A life fully lived in devotion to his God and Savior, there will be a graveside service on December 21, 2021, at 10 a.m. at the Joshua Tree Cemetery 60121 29 Palms Hwy, Joshua Tree, California 92252.
