Ramon Lomeli, a 41-year-resident of Joshua Tree, died Monday, February 16. He was 81 years old. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Guadalupe; sons Jose Luis Lomeli of San Bernardino; Ramon Lomeli, and Jose Lomeli, of Yucca Valley; and Roberto and Cindy Lomeli of Yucaipa; daughters Maura Lomeli of Moreno Valley; Lupe and John Naylor of Joshua Tree; Maria and Larry Sanchez, and Alicia and Martin Baxler, all of Yucca Valley; and Martha and Jimmy Ochoa of Tracy; 25 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Ramon Lomeli was a truck driver for 15 years for Amboy Leslie Salt Company, and a heavy equipment operator for 18 years for Morongo Unified School District. A viewing will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Twentynine Palms, followed by a service at 11 a.m., with Father Gerald Vidad officiating. A graveside service will be held at Joshua Tree Memorial Park immediately following the service.
