SERVICES SET FOR MAGGIE MELDRUM

Margaret Ann “Maggie” Meldrum, a Pasadena native and long-time Morongo Basin resident, died February 8 after a long illness. She was 70 years old. Maggie Meldrum is survived by her husband, Mike Meldrum, her sister, Donna Munoz; and brother Walt “Bud” Reed; as well as three nieces (Shannon Luckino, Darcy Elless, Kim Witsch), four nephews (Darin Sanden, Jairus Howard, Kellen Howard, and James Reed), and many great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Reed, who sat on the first Yucca Valley Town Council; her mother Helen Reed; and brother Jim Reed. Maggie Meldrum was a member of the Hearts of Yucca Valley and Sunset Rotary. For many years, she ran a bed and breakfast on Mane Street in Pioneertown. Before moving to the Morongo Basin she was a top sales rep for AT&T. She was a big supporter of the no-kill animal shelter in Joshua Tree and the Wounded Warrior Project. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Yucca Valley with Pastor Ted Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joshua Tree no-kill animal shelter.
