Juanita Whitacre, a 35-year-resident of Morongo Valley, died November 7. She was 89 years old. Juanita Whitacre is survived by her son, Len Whitacre of Utah; daughter Janice Whitacre-Hamilton, of Twentynine Palms; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Juanita Whitacre was a teacher with the Morongo Unified School District for 25 years, and was with the Living Desert in Palm Desert for 15 years. The viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, November 16, at the Church of Latter-day Saints, 73002 El Paseo Drive, in Twentynine Palms. The service will follow at 10 a.m. with Bishop Luke officiating. A private graveside service will be held at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City.
